In collaboration with Decorah Public Library, this Lawn Chair Night promises a summer filled with endless fun for everyone. Slapdash Bluegrass, a group of self-proclaimed "dust-stomping, pedal board-yielding hippie-billies," originated right here in Decorah, IA. What began as a casual gathering of talented musicians quickly transformed into a local sensation. Prepare to be captivated by their diverse repertoire, which ranges from timeless classics to quirky original compositions.

For over 25 years, Lawn Chair Night has been a cherished program of Downtown Decorah Betterment. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of DDBA, Visit Decorah Tourism, and Impact Coffee, along with the generous support of AJ Realty as the primary sponsor and many other valued contributors, this event continues to thrive. Showcasing a mix of local and regional talent, this public gathering guarantees an unforgettable experience. Remember to bring your own chair and be ready to tap your toes to the beat. During the Washington Street shows, we encourage attendees to enjoy a refreshing beverage from our event partner, Impact Coffee.
