The Nor-East’r Music and Arts Festival every year since 2003, and provides three straight days of eclectic music and art, food, dancing, camping, jamming, drumming, and workshops for people of all ages, talents and abilities. Three stages host continuous music morning to night, ranging from blues to bluegrass, country to new age, jam bands, old-time, Celtic, folk, and even a little rock. Artists offer varied original work from woodcarving to glasswork, jewelry to stonework, basket-making, fiber art, photography, and of course, the indispensable festival tie-dye. In addition, AVNAF is committed to encouraging young people to learn and participate in music and art. Our Carrick's Guitars for Kids program, created by board member Craig Carrick, has been giving away guitars to young people since 2004. Through this program, kids are not only encouraged to participate, but we put instruments in their hands and give them a beginner’s lesson.
Some people come for the day, and many others camp for the weekend on our beautiful festival grounds. Our musicians and artists offer a varied array of workshops to learn how to sing, dance, play an instrument, and create art. Some people like to just sit back and be entertained, but for those people who want more, we offer an immersive artistic experience. Our local fire department hosts a bonfire, and there are plenty of drums provided by our hired "drum guy" so that everyone can participate.
